The Polish Netflix original series, adapted from the novel Druga Szansa or Second Chance by Katarzyna Berenika Miszczuk, is set in a mysterious clinic for orphan amnesiacs named Second Chance, and concerns the efforts of Julia (Maria Wawreniuk), a prodigious pianist and new patient, as she tries to uncover not only who she is and how she ended up there but what the whole place is up to. It’s too deeply rooted in ambiguity, mystery, and the fragility of memory for that. You don’t go into a show like Open Your Eyes expecting to understand all of it.
